Community Media has long been at the forefront of technology inclusion, initially teaching people how to use video cameras to have their stories told on cable TV. With the advent of the Internet, it’s difficult to find a life-task that does not require some level of broadband connectivity and digital literacy as digital skills now underpin nearly every aspect of work and life. Yet many people are being left behind. How is community media addressing digital inclusion in today’s world? What are successful models for ensuring that technology is used as social inclusion?
